Much like its counterparts in Division 1 basketball, NCAA Division III teams now have the opportunity to play one “exhibition” game in the preseason. These are actual games instead of a scrimmage format.
UW-Whitewater will host Elmhurst College on Friday, Nov. 9, in a 4 p.m. tipoff at Kachel Gymnasium at Williams Center.
Several other WIAC teams have played, or will play exhibition games over the next several days.
UW-Eau Claire opened its preseason by dropping a 73-49 exhibition game to the University of Sioux Falls in Sioux Falls, South Dakota on Saturday (Nov. 3).
UW-Superior dropped a 91-65 exhibition game to cross state rival UMD Saturday, Nov. 3 in Duluth.
UW-Oshkosh is scheduled to on the Wisconsin Badgers on Wednesday, Nov. 7, in a 7 p.m. tipoff at the Kohl Center. Wisconsin is completing its first series of exhibition games against WIAC teams. The past eight years, the Badgers posted wins over UW-Stevens Point (80-54), UW-La Crosse (84-59), UW-Superior (80-47), UW-Whitewater (64-47), UW-Eau Claire (74-35), UW-Stout (82-33), UW-River Falls (79-52) and UW-Platteville (78-44).
UW-Platteville will travel to the Windy City to play Illinois-Chicago in its exhibition game on Wednesday, Nov. 7.
In other WIAC men’s basketball exhibition games:
UW-River Falls will play at Concordia-St. Paul on Friday, Nov. 9.
The 2012-13 regular season will get underway Nov. 15th, 16th and 17th.
